
Snookerina is a fast-paced arena shooter with snooker physics. Players pilot a coyote cue ball in gladiator-style battles, facing waves of mecha livestock for a chance to win an extravagant cash prize.
This 3D game project took roughly 6 months with a requirement to port the unity prototype into a custom engine. Just like a previously done project, I am required to work with multi-disciplinary teams to tackle the two phases of this project - Making the prototype before moving to the custom engine. My task includes deciding the art style of the game and producing most of the visuals which excludes the visual effects and the 3D modelling of the play area. With the tech limitations, we decided to forgo the use of animations and kept the design of the models as simple as possible while still showing a unique characteristic in each mecha unit. We took inspirations from Rocket League and real-life snooker for our game concept to create a gameshow-type arena shooter.
